Hi, I'm Mike.
I'm an IT professional in Charlotte with four years in IT help desk support and four years in web development and server administration, applying for the IT Coordinator role at Covenant Day School. This page sets out my qualifications against the role, my work history, and my service in the church and community.

Application Fit
- 01
Desktop and help desk support
Four years on a two-person IT team providing Tier I and II support across three company sites: desktops, laptops, peripherals, and a printer fleet ranging from inkjet and laser to large-format plotters. In my current role I remain the escalation point for complex issues.
- 02
Imaging and device deployment
Designed a secure baseline configuration for new thin clients and carried out the phased rollout across two locations. Wrote the setup guide the team uses, so each device is deployed the same way.
- 03
Active Directory accounts and access
User provisioning, group management, password resets, and access control across all three sites, including onboarding new hires and removing access at departure.
- 04
Wi-Fi, VPN, DHCP, DNS, and server basics
CompTIA Network+ certified. Helped deploy a Windows file server, Remote Desktop Services, and a Hyper-V environment; administer the IIS server hosting 600+ production websites; maintain a Proxmox home lab with its own virtual machines and services.
- 05
Microsoft 365 and school applications
Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certified, with years of supporting Office applications, Outlook, and email issues for everyday users. Software installation, updates, and configuration are routine work.
- 06
Cybersecurity, privacy, and acceptable use
CompTIA Security+ and CySA+ certified. Deployed and maintained Symantec Endpoint Protection, analyzed phishing and malicious attachments in Mimecast, and tested suspicious files in a sandbox before release to users.
- 07
Communicate, document, and escalate
Trained four web publishers and a help desk colleague on tools and workflows. Document setup procedures and fixes as I go, so the next person can pick up a ticket with full context.
